Machine Guarding Compliance Training

Machine guarding ranks among the Top 10 of OSHA citations issued, possibly because the regulation can be confusing. Don't let confusion get in the way of compliance.

OSHA's Machine Guarding Regulation was created to help prevent these incidents. The National Safety Council's Machine Guarding Compliance Training Seminar can help you put the regulation into practice and ensure you understand the federal regulation and can implement the standard within your organization.

Through discussion and activities, our facilitator will break down the regulation into terms you can understand. In just four hours, you'll learn practices and procedures that will keep you in compliance and, best of all, protect your employees.

Seminar objectives include:
  • Developing a working knowledge of key elements surrounding the OSHA 1910 Subpart O Machinery and Machine Guarding (1910.211 - 1910.219) in detail.

  • Gaining the basic concepts, principles and methods of machine guarding.

  • Learning the common causes of machine incidents and how to avoid them.

  • Understanding which areas should be guarded to provide adequate worker protection and determining what areas need guarding.

  • Developing and applying best practices - how to apply basic guarding principles when specific issues aren't covered in the regulation.
